How to find your key

Kindle AZW / AZW3

  • On the device: Settings → Device Options → Device Info
  • On the back label of older Kindle models
  • In the Amazon account under "Manage Your Content and Devices"

Adobe Digital Editions (ePub / PDF)

  • Easiest: upload activation.dat directly — Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Digital Editions/activation.dat · Windows: %LOCALAPPDATA%\Adobe\Digital Editions\activation.dat
  • Alternative: use DeDRM Tools (adobekey.py) to export your key as a .der file
  • Note: activation.dat works with ADE 2–3. ADE 4+ uses PKCS#12 and requires the .der export route.

Kobo ePub

  • On your Kobo device: Settings → About → Serial Number
